Not a bit too soon 2024

Drawn with prisma colored pencils on white drawing paper

The new series of color pencil drawings look like creations from the subconscious.

There are ancestral, cosmic, linguistic, and geometric influences. They pop up like Tulpas (thought forms) or collages of our crystalline water.

These geometric crystal beings float in this vacuum of space surrounded by the detritus of modern materialism and or bodies of celestial light. The absurdity is the equal beauty and fascination for each.

One doesn’t know if they are looking at an ancient primordial god, a machine elf, or an extra terrestrial artifact. These images are at once, beautiful, haunting, funny, brave and optimistic.

The process that this work comes out of unfolds from state to state. From 3D paper construction, to the dream of photographic image and back to 3D as color pencil drawings like a time traveling future self.
